Launch Points to Historical Links
Mr Jeremy Varcoe CMG and his daughter Lucy Varcoe took the honours of opening Wainhomes South West's magnificent Pochin House development on Saturday 6 th August.
Mr Varcoe, an immigration judge and retired diplomat, is a direct descendent of the last member of the Lovering family who originally built the clay dry for the Carclaze mine from which Pochin House is converted. Mr Varcoe's daughter Lucy, who assisted with the opening, is the youngest descendent to carry the Lovering name.
At the launch, also attended by the Lady Mayor of Restormel Marilyn Wellman and Mayoress Pauline Bulmer, Mr Varcoe gave a fascinating insight of his family's history with the site dating back to 1845. He also expressed his pride in seeing the Pochin House development extend the legacy of the Lovering family's contribution to the region, in conjunction with the Pochin family from whom the development takes its name.
Now an imposing and awe-inspiring development of two and three bedroom luxury apartments on Carclaze Road , Pochin House still features the original chimney from the Lovering Clay Dry. Every stunningly designed apartment is entirely individual, with glorious views overlooking St Austell available from many.
Wainhomes South West Sales and Marketing Director Adrian Dyer said: “Pochin House combines modern and traditional architecture to create a truly striking and remarkable living environment and I can promise visitors will be truly inspired.
“We are exceptionally proud of the development, not only because of its proud historical links to the region, but also because we believe there is nothing to rival it in Cornwall for combined beauty, accessibility and pure luxury. From the moment that Pochin House comes into view the development has a dramatic impact. But this only gives a hint towards the quality of the sumptuous, luxurious and spacious interiors – all individual, all spectacular, with a tangible quality that rings from every corner.
“The only way to truly appreciate this unique development is to see it for yourself and I would invite anybody and everybody interested in a truly exceptional home in Cornwall to book an appointment sooner rather than later so you do not miss out on this fabulous opportunity.”
Wainhomes South West is Cornwall 's biggest house builder and was recently awarded the best regional builder for quality in its category by the NHBC for the fourth year running. The NHBC have recognised the company with Pride in the Job awards for six years running and its developments have been awarded Seals of Excellence for the last five years.
